AFX 2ND Gen ProSpindles

Wilwood's AFX 2nd Gen ProSpindle Kits contain a pair of high-strength steel spindles with a more rigid steering arm, eliminating the archaic GM factory sliding caliper mount. These spindles are engineered to simplify upgrades by directly mounting Wilwood calipers and performance disc brake kits. Improve the handling and braking of 1970-1981 GM F-body, 1975-1979 X-body, 1973-76 A-body, and 1979-90 B-body (originally equipped with 11” rotors) vehicles. AFX ProSpindles

Wilwood’s AFX ProSpindle Kits contain a pair of high strength steel spindles for 1964-1972 GM A Body, 1967-1969 GM F Body, 1968-1974 GM X Body vehicles that use the original bolt on steering arms. Specifically designed for use with Wilwood’s disc brake kits, with a 2.00” drop for a more aggressive stance without affecting steering geometry. With the added benefits of providing a lower center of gravity, raised front roll center and a decreased camber change also improve handling with less body roll. Installs using the OE ball joints using original or aftermarket control arms. Kit includes four steering arm bolts, two for each spindle.

NOTE: These spindles will fit 1964-66 Buick, Chevy, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac A-body cars, but some models used steering arms with 7/16” mounting bolts. The bolt holes in the steering arm must be enlarged to .50" by drilling. It is recommended these modifications be performed by a qualified machinist.

Mustang II ProSpindles

Wilwood’s ProSpindle is specifically designed for use in fabricated A-arm suspensions on kit cars, street rods, drag cars and other custom or race applications configured around Pinto/Mustang ll suspension geometry. A redesigned one-piece forged steel body uses common Pinto and Mustang ll tie rod ends, ball joints, wheel bearings and seals. It is lightweight yet nearly three times stronger than OE or aftermarket two-piece cast iron and steel replacement spindles.

The Steel ProSpindle is lighter and stronger then the factory cast iron, while lowering the car for a better look and improved handling.
