Aluminum Tandem Master Cylinder

Wilwood’s Tandem Aluminum Master Cylinder is available in 2 bore sizes 1.00” and 1-1/8”; and 3 finishes, plain, ball burnished and black e-coat. 7/8” bore master cylinders are designed primarily for manual applications and include a pushrod. The 1” bore can be used in manual and power assisted applications and does not come with a pushrod. The 1-1/8” bore is designed for use primarily with power brake applications, either from vacuum assist or hydraulic assist systems. They’re designed for mount flanges from 3.22” to 3.40”, common measurements for most domestic cars and trucks from the mid 1960s to present, and offer fluid outlet ports on both sides of the bore. The stroke is set at 1.10” with a volume ratio of 2:1 between the primary and secondary chambers. Machined from high-pressure die castings, each master cylinder weighs only 3lbs, a 75% weight savings over most cast iron OE type master cylinders. Wilwood now makes a performance master cylinder with a flange specifically for Mopar's unique four bolt pattern. The rectangular mounting flange of our Mopar Compact Tandem master cylinder matches the A-body, B-body and the E-body firewall mounts in the 1960's and 70's. Available in 15/16", 1.00" and 1-1/8" bore sizes without pushrod, 15/16" and 1.00 with pushrod and Mopar style eyelet. Available in either a chrome powder coat finish or a glossy black E-coat to complement any engine bay. Optional kits are available that include a combination valve with a hydraulic brake light switch, adjustable proportioning valve, bracket, and plumbing.

Wilwood’s Remote Tandem Master Cylinder for Classic Mustang is available in 2 bore sizes 7/8” and 15/16”, and in two finishes: ball burnished and black e-coat. They’re designed for mount flanges from 3.22” to 3.40” and a pushrod and eyelet for Calssic Mustang and other Ford vehicles from 1965 to 1973. Remote Tandem Master Cylinders offer fluid outlet ports on both sides of the bore. The stroke is set at 1.12” with a volume ratio of 2:1 between the primary and secondary chambers. Machined from high-pressure die castings, each master cylinder weighs only 3lbs, a 75% weight savings over most cast iron OE type master cylinders. Tandem Manual Master Cylinder for C2 Corvettes

Machined from high-pressure die-cast aluminum, the Compact Tandem Master Cylinder weighs just 3.25 lbs., more than 50% less than the cast-iron factory tandem unit. Despite the compact size, it has a full 1.10” stroke and the fluid volume needed for high-performance multi-piston calipers. Finish options include gloss black e-coat, or a media burnished polished aluminum finish. Fluid outputs (1/2”-20 UNF) are provided on both sides of the bore. Plugs and fittings are included to accommodate 3/8”-24, 1/2”-20, and 9/16”-18 IF brake lines. Slotted mount flanges with 3.22” to 3.40” holes bolt right to the factory studs on the Corvette firewall and fit most other domestic cars and trucks from the era. Residual valves for drum brake cars and adjustable proportioning valves to dial in the brake bias are also available.

Two bore sizes provide the correct output for optimal braking performance on all models with Wilwood big brake kits, retrofits to tandem circuit master cylinders for 1963-64 drum brake cars, and a tuning option to provide a softer pedal feel with reduced effort on factory non-power disc brake equipped 1965-67 models.

NOTE: Due to space constraints, the optional proportioning valve mounting kit (P/N 260-14248) will not work with these C2 Corvette tandem master cylinders.

Aluminum Tandem M/C Kit with Bracket and Valve

Wilwood has packaged the popular Aluminum Tandem Chamber Master Cylinder with the Combination Proportioning Valve, mounting bracket, fluid tubes and mounting hardware in a kit. Tandem Master Cylinder represents the latest in refinements in brake pressure actuation and fluid control. The slotted flange mounting makes it a simple bolt on for many OE mounts including the popular Chrysler, Corvette, GM, and Ford Mustang bolt patterns and is compatible with manual or power brake system applications. Master cylinders are available in four bores sizes, 7/8”, 15/16", 1.00” or 1-1/8”, and three finishes, standard, ball burnished or black E-coat. The combination proportioning valve substantially simplifies wiring and brake proportioning adjustments on vehicles with custom brake systems. The combination block maintains full isolation between front and rear fluid circuits and is specifically designed to accompany the Tandem Chamber Master Cylinder. The combo valve and bracket are black E-coated for a performance look and long lasting durability. Stainless steel fluid tubes are precision bent with preinstalled plated steel tube nuts for a simple bolt-on installation between the Combination Proportioning Valve and the Wilwood Tandem Master Cylinder. Stainless steel button head fasteners thread into the bracket for a simple installation and years of durable, rust-free performance. Simply connect the fluid lines, bleed the system, and you're finished.
