In 1994 the Trophy Truck class was born. At the time there were very few rules or limitations in building the trucks separate of safety standards, so teams designed and built what they thought was going to be the best off-road vehicle available at the time. Custom built chassis are powered by highly modified 850+ HP engines, and forced induction is allowed in certain events. Historically, Trophy Trucks have been two-wheel drive, but recently four-wheel drives have been making their way into the scene. Building and campaigning a top of the line unlimited Trophy Truck could cost you anywhere from $600,000-$1,000,000 depending on the options you choose. (A Spec Trophy Truck, known as the 6100 series, is a more affordable version to get you out racing on a lower budget). With a nice budget, a knowledgeable fabricator, and some experience with off-road racing you can be well on your way to a prestigious podium finish.
Similar to Trophy Trucks, Class 1400 TT (Trick Truck) is open to any 4-wheel full-bodied truck or SUV in most venues. Must have full frame and utilize leaf springs only. Production appearing full body and cab required as delivered by OEM. Engines must be normally aspirated. Check all the rules before registering for an event to make sure you meet the correct class requirements.
