Dynapro SA Lug Drive Dynamic Rear Drag Brake Kit

Wilwood's new Billet Dynapro Lug-Drive Dynamic Stainless Super Alloy Rotor Brake Kits are especially beneficial to cars that rely heavily on the rear brakes for stopping and any other high speed, heavy weight cars that generate above average rear brake heat. The lug-drive rotor mounting system eliminates the rotor bolts and instead, a large single internal snap-ring retains the rotor in the hat, making assembly and installation literally a snap. This system allows the rotors to move independently of the hats as they expand and contract through heat cycles. All thermally generated stress is removed from the rotor attachment points. The rotors stay flatter and run truer. Kits are available in two rotor diameters: A traditional 11.44” diameter and a smaller 11.25” diameter for clearance with bead lock rims. The hats are no longer distorted by stresses generated by thermal expansion and shrinkage of the rotors. Spring-loaded, replaceable stainless steel inserts in each lug-drive slot protect the aluminum hat from wear that would otherwise be caused by loading of the stainless steel rotor against the hat when brake torque is applied. Kits are available in Single and Dual caliper configurations.

AERO6 Big Brake Front Brake Kit (Race)

Aerolite six piston differential bore calipers are coupled with the high heat capacity of dynamically mounted 14.00" Spec37 alloy rotors to provide consistent, responsive braking for spec Corvette racers, autocross, and track day cars using Corvette suspension. GT rotors with 72 staggered directional vanes shed heat and float on lightweight forged aluminum hats via an innovative, dynamic lug-drive mount system to further reduce thermal stresses. This kit comes complete with high temperature, high friction, BP-30 SmartPads selected specifically for exceptional driver control with DOT tires and limited downforce.

The radial-mount Aerolite caliper uses a forged aluminum body with type III Mil-Spec hard anodized finish and a closed bridge to reduce deflection. The race version features a wide body for 20mm pads, providing longer service life on track even with high speed and heavier cars. Investment cast stainless steel pistons resist corrosion and resist heat transfer compared to the aluminum or steel pistons found in OE calipers. Internal springs and high-temperature piston seals reduce piston knockback for a more consistent pedal feel.

Caliper pistons are sized for complete compatibility with the factory master cylinder and ABS controls. For dedicated competition use, manual brake conversions with balance bar pedals are also possible. Mounting brackets with premium-grade hardware secure the calipers in the stock location. Kit requires a stainless steel braided flexline, sold separately, specific to the model year.

Wilwood Engineering has just introduced an all new series of DynaPro caliper rear axle drag kits that provide state of the art braking technology for all Sportsman category drag racers.

Wilwood has announced the release of new rear brake kits for drag racing, or other prevailing rear brake, high-speed cars generating high heat.

New Wilwood Lug-Drive™ road race brake kits for the 1995-1999 BMW E36 M3 feature 13.00” or 14.00” front rotors with six piston calipers, and 13.00” rear rotors with four piston calipers. Engineered explicitly for BMW M3 to increase brake torque, minimize pad taper and reduce fade at the extreme temperatures caused by high-speed road racing in classes using factory spindles. Lug-Drive dynamic mounting the rotor simplifies assembly and allows for rotor heat expansion independent from the hat, eliminating distortion.

The S197 Mustang (fifth generation) has plenty of power and handling for SCCA and NASA competition. Wilwood Racing now offers a race-proven big brake kit to match that power and meet class rules requiring four pistons. The GN4R lug-drive kit is the ultimate brake package, with floating 13.00" x 1.25" Spec37 iron rotors and Grand National stress flow forged aluminum calipers developed for stock car racing.

Wilwood Aero6R/ST lug-drive road race brake kits for the 1994-2004 Ford Mustang feature Aerolite six piston calipers and large 14.00” floating lug-drive rotors. Engineered for Ford SN-95 platform Mustangs in unrestricted road racing classes using factory front spindles.

The rear-engine eighth-generation Chevrolet Corvette delivers exotic performance and style. Wilwood has engineered an upgraded SX6R front big brake kit with Lug-Drive™ technology using dynamically mounted 15” diameter rotors, which provide increased brake torque and greater thermal capacity.

Wilwood now offers a rear big brake kit for the new C8 Chevy Corvette, and it includes an electric parking brake (EPB) caliper with wiring harness for seamless integration to onboard systems. The 55XD design shaves weight by mounting the forged aluminum rotor adapter closer to the hub’s reinforced center using fewer mounting bolts. The new Lug-Drive system simplifies rotor mounting using a snap ring in place of bolts and safety wire, allowing it to float and heat cycle without distortion for a more consistent pedal feel and longer life.

Wilwood Racing has engineered an innovative new Lug-Drive dynamic-mount rotor system specifically for race cars using Wide 5 and 5x5 hubs. The new floating rotor Lug-Drive system simplifies assembly with a single snap ring in place of rotor bolts and safety wire. The floating rotor eliminates heat distortion from thermal expansion for a more predictable pedal feel and extended pad and rotor life.
