AFX 2ND Gen ProSpindles

Wilwood's AFX 2nd Gen ProSpindle Kits contain a pair of high-strength steel spindles with a more rigid steering arm, eliminating the archaic GM factory sliding caliper mount. These spindles are engineered to simplify upgrades by directly mounting Wilwood calipers and performance disc brake kits. Improve the handling and braking of 1970-1981 GM F-body, 1975-1979 X-body, 1973-76 A-body, and 1979-90 B-body (originally equipped with 11” rotors) vehicles. A 2.00” drop lowers the center of gravity for less body roll and improved looks, without affecting steering geometry. Installs using OE ball joints with original or aftermarket control arms.

AFX ProSpindles

Wilwood’s AFX ProSpindle Kits contain a pair of high strength steel spindles for 1964-1972 GM A Body, 1967-1969 GM F Body, 1968-1974 GM X Body vehicles that use the original bolt on steering arms. Specifically designed for use with Wilwood’s disc brake kits, with a 2.00” drop for a more aggressive stance without affecting steering geometry. With the added benefits of providing a lower center of gravity, raised front roll center and a decreased camber change also improve handling with less body roll. Installs using the OE ball joints using original or aftermarket control arms. Kit includes four steering arm bolts, two for each spindle.

NOTE: These spindles will fit 1964-66 Buick, Chevy, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac A-body cars, but some models used steering arms with 7/16” mounting bolts. The bolt holes in the steering arm must be enlarged to .50" by drilling. It is recommended these modifications be performed by a qualified machinist.

Chevrolet C10 ProSpindles

Wilwood’s ProSpindle Kits contain a pair of Modular Spindles, steering arms and hubs assemblies for either 63-70 or 71-87 Chevrolet & GMC 2WD C10/C15 Pickups and Suburban’s. Specifically designed for use with Wilwood’s disc brake kits, with a 2.50” drop for a more aggressive stance without affecting steering geometry. Constructed from a proprietary grade of forged aluminum with an integrated modular bearing hub assembly that supports both 5 x 4.75” and 5 x 5.00” wheel bolt circles. Direct mounting for radial caliper brackets create strong, zero flex platform for brake mounting.

Mustang II ProSpindles

Wilwood’s ProSpindle is specifically designed for use in fabricated A-arm suspensions on kit cars, street rods, drag cars and other custom or race applications configured around Pinto/Mustang ll suspension geometry. A redesigned one-piece forged steel body uses common Pinto and Mustang ll tie rod ends, ball joints, wheel bearings and seals. It is lightweight yet nearly three times stronger than OE or aftermarket two-piece cast iron and steel replacement spindles.

Tri-Five ProSpindles

Precision engineered 2” drop ProSpindle for 1955-1957 Chevy Bell Air, Nomad 210 and other full size models make installing Wilwood brakes easy. The Steel ProSpindle is lighter and stronger then the factory cast iron, while lowering the car for a better look and improved handling. Designed with reinforced attachment for a variety of Wilwood disc brake kits. Options include high performance aluminum four or six piston calipers and rotors ranging from 11.50” to 14.00” in diameter. The Pro Spindles use OE ball joints and steering arms, lowering the car with no changes to the suspension or steering geometry.

Wilwood Disc Brakes is pleased to announce special limited time (March 1, 2013 through May 31, 2013) pricing on the top-of-the-line Challenge Series Big Brake Front Kits. These new Challenge Series kits now provide the most affordable opportunity ever offered for big brake stopping power and Wilwood styling on high performance street and track competition cars. New kits are now available for the popular 1960-70’s GM and Mopar muscle car spindles, as well as the OE Mustang II and Wilwood Mustang II replacement ProSpindles.

Wilwood Dynalite Classic Series front disc brake kits (P/N 140-14065) are specifically built for Wilwood ProSpindles. These brake kits use 11.00” diameter one piece rotor assemblies and fit inside most 14” wheels.

Wilwood has released four new brake kits for the OE-style Pinto / Mustang II spindles and Wilwood’s replacement ProSpindle for Mustang II style suspensions.

Wilwood’s forged aluminum Aerolite radial mount calipers and 15.00” diameter Spec37 alloy directional vane two-piece rotors are combined in these all new brake kits specifically built for Wilwood ProSpindles. Kits can be style matched with either gloss black or red powder coat finish six piston calipers equipped with Wilwood metallic-composite compound SmartPads. For performance and style, you have a choice of either SRP series drilled and slotted or GT competition series slotted face rotors. Mounting brackets and all the necessary hardware for a complete installation are included. Wilwood ProSpindle kits are sold separately.

Wilwood has announced four new front brake kit combinations built around their new 2" drop ProSpindle for popular 60's and 70's GM A, F, and X body muscle cars. Brake kits are available with rotor diameters from 11.00" to 14.00". Caliper options include Classic Series forged Dynalite-M, DynaPro 4R, Superlite 6R, and high-capacity Aerolite 6R in your choice of standard red or black powder coat or 22 additional caliper color finishes. The 2" drop ProSpindles are a tall-body design that lowers the stance and gravity center height, while producing a higher front roll center with reduced camber change to improve handling and reduce body roll during cornering.

Wilwood’s 2.50” drop ProSpindle and disc brake upgrade kits improve the handling, styling and braking capacity on all 1973-1987 Chevy/GMC C10 pickups, as well as all 1963-1972 models that have been updated with the later model ball joints.
