The Jeep Wrangler is a compact and mid-size four-wheel drive off-road vehicle, currently in its Fourth generation. The Wrangler is arguably an indirect progression from the World War II Willys MB through the Willys civilian Jeeps (Jeep CJ) of the mid-1940s through 1980s that were produced by Kaiser-Jeep and by American Motors Corporation (AMC). The Jeep Wrangler was introduced in 1996 and completely redesigned in 2006. In addition to the model name Wrangler, each model received a designation to its generation: YJ (1986-1995), TJ (1997-2006), JK (2007-2018) and JL (2018-2020).
