These kits are configured for dedicated road racing and requires 17” or larger wheels designed with additional inside clearance to accommodate the larger than stock brake package. The six piston FSL6R/ST radial mount calipers used in this kit feature a forged aluminum body with a Type III Mil-Spec hard anodized, medium gray color finish. Hard anodizing provides superior wear resistance in the piston bores, and high resistance to abrasion and corrosion throughout. Thermlock® pistons are used to reduce heat transfer from the pads to increase fade resistance, and to extend service life by decreasing temperatures in the caliper body, fluid, and seals. Internal damper springs and controlled retraction, high-temperature piston seals assure consistent pedal height from start to finish. Spec37 alloy, GT competition series 12.88" to 13.08” diameter directional vane rotors are dynamically or fixed mounted to the OE hubs with weight saving forged aluminum hats.
Wilwood Disc Brakes Releases BMW E36 M3 Lug-Drive Road Race Big Brake Kits
New Wilwood Lug-Drive™ road race brake kits for the 1995-1999 BMW E36 M3 feature 13.00” or 14.00” front rotors with six piston calipers, and 13.00” rear rotors with four piston calipers. Engineered explicitly for BMW M3 to increase brake torque, minimize pad taper and reduce fade at the extreme temperatures caused by high-speed road racing in classes using factory spindles. Lug-Drive dynamic mounting the rotor simplifies assembly and allows for rotor heat expansion independent from the hat, eliminating distortion.
