Wilwood Disc Brakes is celebrating their 35th year in business as one of the nation’s largest and
longest running manufacturer of high performance disc brake components. The company has built a
superior reputation over the past 35 years as the premier provider of disc brakes to the motorsports
industry worldwide.
Since its inception in 1977, Wilwood has steadily grown from a small company producing a few
calipers for Grand National stock cars to an organization of over 250 employees based in Camarillo,
California. Wilwood’s product line has grown from individual brake components to complete brake
systems that include calipers, master cylinders, rotors, brake pedals, brake pads, hubs, fluid control
valves and high temperature brake fluids.
In the early 1990’s Wilwood diversified and launched their Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)
division. This group moved outside the general motorsports arena to provide specially brake
solutions for recreational vehicles, utility vehicles, snowmobiles, ATV’s, watercraft, military (including
all Hum Vees currently in service), and more.
One of the unique things about Wilwood is their ability to develop the entire brake system in-house, from beginning concept to final packaging. This unrivaled manufacturing process has allowed Wilwood to provide a seamless design to companies and individual enthusiasts.
