We've Got You Covered!

The Chevrolet Suburban started production of the ‘all-steel’ wagon in 1935. Chevrolet has designed 11 generations of the Suburban and it is still currently in production. The Suburban is a full-size station wagon modeled after 1/2-ton Chevrolet trucks and is the longest-running model of the Chevrolet vehicles. The Suburban has 11 generations dating back to the first generation that ran from 1935 to 1940. The second generation ran from 1941 to 1946 and was primarily a military transport vehicle. The third generation introduced the Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic transmission and ran from 1947 to 1955. From 1955 to 1959 the fourth generation Suburban received new styling including a flatter hood, front fenders flush with the body and a trapezoid grill. The fifth generation, from 1960 to 1966, introduced front independent suspension and 4WD option for the first time. The 1967 to 1972 sixth generation introduced a 3/4-ton version, while the 1973 to 1991 seventh generation added a 454-cubic-inch big block V8 engine. In 1987 electronic fuel injection was introduced. The eighth generation which ran from 1992 to 1999 saw a number of design changes including a new front clip, and driver- and passenger-side air bags. Further additions came with the ninth generation which ran from 2000 to 2006, and included a new instrument panel, four-wheel disc brakes and electronic climate control. The tenth generation ran from 2007 to 2014 and received a more modern, less boxy styling creating an aerodynamic shape. The current eleventh generation, introduced in 2015, has a more efficient IcoTec3 V8 engine and improved aerodynamics creating great fuel economy. Today the Suburban is a work-wagon used by many government agencies, police and fire departments, and construction companies.
