Ford built the original Bronco to be a formable off-road vehicle able to compete with the likes of Jeeps, Internationals’ Scout and Land Rovers. Ford built an entirely original platform borrowing only a few parts from the F100 truck. The early Bronco was designed with a short wheel base utilizing a multi link coil-spring front suspension. The design produced an off-road vehicle with great wheel travel and a tight turning radius. The timeless ascetics backed by a solid foundation have made the first generation of Broncos a favorite in the off-road and aftermarket industries.
